NEOM has established the timeline for the tendering process for the construction of various assets on Shusha Island. These assets encompass the world's largest coral garden, a marina, hotels, villas, a beach club, a museum, and a research center. The construction on Shusha Island is categorized into three packages: GC1, GC2, and GC3. GC1 comprises the Hipe Tower, Grotto entrance, and Sunset pools.
The Hipe Tower is a 220-meter-tall structure with a built-up area of approximately 50,000 square meters. The Grotto entrance is a 65-meter-high cave within the island's cliffs that leads to the top of Hipe Tower. The Sunset pools are large pools situated at the development's edge, offering views of the Red Sea. The client is anticipated to release the request for proposal for GC1 in the fourth quarter of this year.
The request for proposal for GC3 is expected to be released in the third quarter of this year. Sources close to the project have indicated that a separate design and build tender will be launched in the third quarter of this year for the floating marina. This marina will feature an interactive marine biology experience center in the Red Sea.
