Saudi oil giant Aramco has begun operating the largest fully manufactured electric induction motor in Saudi Arabia, as it aims to localize the industry.  The 10,000-horsepower engine will power the compressor at the onshore gas plant, which is responsible for feeding the Kingdom's main gas network, Saudi Press Agency reported.

Under the auspices of Tabuk Gov. Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the NEOM development company will host on Tuesday, in cooperation with residents, the “NEOM … The Future of Man and Place” forum at the region’s Prince Sultan Cultural Center.  The forum will be an opportunity for officials to brief the community on NEOM’s programs to boost local investment and improve the quality of life of residents and citizens.

Saudi Arabia’s Jada Fund of Funds plans launching funds to attract investments in favor of NEOM, revealed Jada CEO Adel Al-Ateeq.  The ‘Catalyze Saudi’ initiative is in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 which aims to raise small and medium sized enterprises’ (SMEs) contribution to GDP from 21% to 35% by 2030.

The independent feature Within Sand has begun shooting in NEOM, becoming the first Saudi film to be supported by NEOM’s Media Industries sector.

Selected and supported by the Saudi Film Commission in a nationwide Daw’ film competition, Within Sand is being produced by Riyadh-based Alsarid Films and will be distributed by Saudi-based CineWaves films. The script has been selected and developed by Torino Lab, which was part of the Red Sea International Film Festival programs.

Newsletter publishing date moved

Following requests from our newsletter subscribers we've moved it from Friday to Monday as many people said they didn't have time on a Friday to catch up with NEOM news. The next publishing date will be Monday 28th March 2022.

We've been looking at placing small, unobtrusive adverts in some places on the site, expecially the most popular page NEOM Management Team. This page alone gets most of the inbound search queries and it's obvious people are searching for ways to make contact with NEOM executives.

Current thinking is to place adverts on the NEOM Management Team page, the main News category and the Newsletter. All spaces will be available for sponsorship shortly with discounts for companies with active Premium listings.
