US Law Firm Brownstein Takes on NEOM Lobbying for $40k per month

U.S. law firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck has expanded its lobbying work to back Saudi Arabia’s NEOM project, a significant $500 billion high-tech development along the Red Sea.  Brownstein’s role was revealed in compliance with the federal Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), a U.S. law requiring law firms, lobbyists, and similar entities to publicly disclose certain activities conducted on behalf of foreign clients.

In 2021, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck earned US $56.25 million in federal lobbying revenue, making it the largest lobbying firm in the nation. As of March 2020, the firm has 13 offices across the United States and 600 employees.

The firm will serve as policy advisors for NEOM Tech and Digital Company, billing $40,000 a month through November 2024, a recent filing disclosure showed.

Brownstein’s Alfred Mottur, who is on the team for NEOM, declined to comment on Tuesday. Mottur and Greta Joynes, co-leaders of the firm’s technology and communications practices, will supervise the work.
