Located 50 kilometres from the Gulf of Aqaba coast, lies Saudi Arabia’s TROJENA – a snow-capped tourist destination, and part of the Kingdom’s megaproject NEOM. With elevations ranging from 1,500 metres to 2,600 metres, covering an area of nearly 60 square kilometres, the destination is set to be transformed ahead of the 2029 Asian Winter Games. Saudi Arabia is the first country in the Middle East to host the games, which will feature 32 participating nations.

Saudi Arabia has planted more than 12 million wild trees and shrubs in a bid to combat desertification. According to the Saudi Gazette, the National Centre for Vegetation Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) planted the trees while starting the Integrated Management and Sustainable Development of Pastures Project, which is part of the Kingdom's National Pasture Strategy Initiative, in line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.

Saudi Arabia’s mega-city NEOM plans to have its own dedicated airline. Arabian Business reported last month the US$500bn super city was considering its own carrier, following on from the country’s Saudia and the soon-to-be-launched RIA airlines.

Somewhere along the Red Sea, close to the Suez Canal, Saudi Arabia is building a floating city it touts to radicalise the global manufacturing industry – the OXAGON.  Shaped exactly how it’s named, the new city is part of the Kingdom’s NEOM megaproject, and is focused in creating a new logistics centre that will redefine “world’s approach to industrial development in the future,” Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman said at the time of the launch.

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MbS) has ambitions to build an ‘alcohol paradise’. It is located in the city of NEOM.  NEOM is one of Saudi Arabia’s projects to start relying on tourism, industry and renewable energy. So far, Saudi Arabia has relied more on the oil sector for its economy. NEOM is part of Saudi Vision 2030 and is expected to be completed in time for 2030.

If confirmed, this will be the latest rule implemented by the royal government that makes Saudi, a conservative country that still implements Islamic sharia law, more moderate. Saudi Arabia has banned the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages throughout the country.
