Alfanar Global Development, a part of Alfanar Group, is investing SR10 billion into developing and operating temporary residential communities in NEOM. This project, awarded as part of a record SR21 billion public-private partnership (PPP) for social infrastructure, will house the growing workforce in different parts of the region, including OXAGON where the future of advanced and clean industries is currently being constructed. The project supports NEOM’s rapid transformation by designing, building, and operating five communities for the growing workforce across the northwestern region of Saudi Arabia.

The renewable hydrogen & ammonia production facility will be built near Al Muwaileh, Saudi Arabia, with Air Products to act as the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor for the project ($6.7 billion total value).

Minor Hotels has confirmed an Anantara TROJENA resort will open within NEOM. The luxurious hotel will have a big focus on its spa offering, and adds to a growing list of super-hotels earmarked for the Middle Eastern ski holiday haven.  Situated within the valley cluster of TROJENA, the upcoming Anantara resort will add to the area’s Water Village. This district, known as The Valley, is currently undergoing development to become centered around a magnificent 2.8km artificial freshwater lake.

LBPKSA, a joint venture between the professional engineering services firm Louis Berger Services and the KFB Holding Group, has secured a contract for the construction of the floating industrial zone OXAGON within Saudi Arabia’s futuristic city NEOM. Under the contract, LBPKSA will design, supply, and install a containerised diesel power plant for the Saudi Arabian Trading & Construction Company (Satco).

Saudi-based media group SRMG has signed a partnership with NEOM Media Industries. NEOM media industries is a developing regional center for KSA’s media and creative industries.

Both Saudi-based companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of strengthening the regional media ecosystem through content production, talent development and industry training programmes.

NEOM’s proposed Shushah Island is looking for a cluster general manager. The successful candidate will work for NEOM Hotel Development and will be responsible for managing the luxury destination. Plans suggest Shushah Island will house a marina, hotels, villas, a beach club, a museum, and coral garden facilities, including a nursery and research centre. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 15 years’ experience in the industry.

GE Grid Solutions has secured a major contract from Larsen & Toubro to supply 380 kV T155 gas-insulated substations (GIS) for the world’s largest utility-scale green hydrogen plant in Saudi Arabia, according to a press statement. The mega plant will be located in OXAGON, the planned smart city of NEOM in northwestern Saudi Arabia. GE’s GIS design and the 1.5 breaker configuration will help ensure uninterrupted operation at the hydrogen plant and the wind and photovoltaic plants, which will produce captive energy for the plant.
