TROJENA, NEOM’s unique, futuristic ski destination, is currently making significant construction progress across all clusters and major assets to deliver the development to the 2026 construction completion target. Construction is continuing at pace, and NEOM is well on the way to creating The Lake – a magnificent 2.8-km-long man-made freshwater lake at the heart of TROJENA – and the vertical village The Vault.
Saudi Arabia has laid out its ambition to build a hotel of such magnitude, allure and luxury, that travelers from the world over will come to see it. In Dubai, the emirate has the two Atlantis resorts, between them almost 2,000 rooms. In the US, historic hotels such as The Plaza sit in New York and mega-resorts fill the Las Vegas strip. But in Saudi a set of three boutique hotels will be the “global bucket list” destination of choice.
NEOM has partnered with UK-based Dive Butler International to enhance the aquatic and diving experience at luxury island Sindalah. In a press statement, NEOM noted that the partnership will provide visitors with a deluxe experience both above and below the waters of the Red Sea. Under the agreement, Dive Butler will operate a five-star Professional Association of Diving Instructors dive center in Sindalah, providing a wide range of aquatic activities for visitors.
NEOM, the dubbed smart region being developed in Northwest Saudi Arabia, announced on October 25th, 2023, that it had invested in REGENT, the US-based electric seaglider manufacturer whose 12-passenger water vehicle named Viceroy is set to become the region’s water transport. NEOM and REGENT closed a multi-year partnership deal to establish seaglider passenger operations in the region, taking visitors to and from the cities and places in NEOM. The collaboration was made possible through NEOM’s own investment fund program.
NEOM quietly announced last week that as part of the launch of its investment fund it had added Boom Technology, the aspiring supersonic airliner startup, to its first slate of recipients.
Metaverse and gaming venture capital firm Animoca Brands plans to enter into a partnership with Saudi Arabia's NEOM Investment Fund focused on Web3 initiatives. The investment fund of NEOM – the project for a new urban area in northwest Saudi Arabia envisioned as a hub for technology, trade, entertainment and tourism – is proposing to invest $50 million in Animoca, according to an announcement on Monday.
China's smart vehicle makers and autonomous driving companies have become popular with investors in the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia, as the oil-rich region is looking for new ways to drive its economy. So far this year, at least seven startups in the sector including Nio have inked deals with investors from countries in the region, with combined investment nearing 100 billion yuan ($13.72 billion).
The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GASGI) has signed an agreement with NEOM on the geospatial sector and associated geospatial infrastructure (geodesy, marine surveying, aerial surveying and photography, remote sensing, and geospatial data), and exchanging experiences concerning supervision, management, organization, licensing, qualification, sharing and exchanging geospatial data and information to find technical and technological solutions in the management of cognitive cities, reported SPA.
Saudi Arabia’s $500bn flagship project NEOM on Tuesday set up a $10bn joint venture (JV) with Denmark’s DSV, the world’s third-largest freight forwarder,
Autonomous driving technology company Pony.ai has secured a $100m (SR375.15m) investment from NEOM Investment Fund (NIF), the investment arm of the city of NEOM in Saudi Arabia. Under the alliance, NEOM and Pony.ai will set up a joint venture (JV) to develop, manufacture and offer autonomous cars, services for autonomous driving, and infrastructure for smart vehicles.
NEOM announced signing an agreement with the country’s General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information for cooperation in technical and technological solutions in the management of administrative cities. The agreement envisages the two cooperate in a range of geospatial infrastructure such as geodesy, marine survey, aerial surveying and photography, sensing, and geospatial data exchange.
