LG Electronics has joined forces with Saudi HVAC leader Shaker Group and Datavolt, a global developer of data infrastructure, to deploy state-of-the-art cooling solutions at a major artificial intelligence data centre within OXAGON, NEOM’s reimagined industrial city on the Red Sea. According to the report by Zawya, Datavolt, headquartered in Saudi Arabia with offices in the US, India, Uzbekistan and UAE, is developing one of the largest AI data centres in the region, powered by renewable energy and alternative fuels.
According to Zawya’s report, LG’s contribution will integrate large-scale chillers with coolant distribution units, establishing AI data centre thermal management as a new growth engine for its HVAC business. The company also plans to explore complementary solutions, including heat recovery and DC power systems, as part of its “One LG Solution” strategy leveraging the broader LG Group network.
“We are building a new generation of net-zero, AI-ready data centres designed for performance, scale and sustainability,” said Nanda. “Partnering with LG allows us to integrate world-class cooling technologies critical to enabling digital transformation across the Kingdom and beyond.” - Datavolt CEO Rajit Nanda
The collaboration also reinforces LG’s commitment to the region through tailored solutions for the climate, including sandstorm- and heat-resistant outdoor units manufactured at the LG-Shaker facility, as well as strengthened service infrastructure through dedicated regional maintenance subsidiaries.
