Extensive civil works are ongoing around the clock in the mountainous TROJENA region of the NEOM gigaproject. According to official new footage released on social media, construction crews are working through the night (and day) to complete the ski resort and dams by its slated deadline of 2026, well ahead of time for the 2029 Asian Winter Games, which will be hosted at TROJENA.
Creator of one-of-a-kind hospitality projects, Zannier Hotels, has announced a partnership with NEOM to develop a new luxury eco-resort in Zardun, one of Magna’s destinations located in the Northwest of Saudi Arabia on the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba. Red Sea International Company (RSI) has announced a significant contract with Webuild S.p.A. worth SAR 658 million (excluding VAT) to design, manufacture, supply, and install prefabricated buildings for a staff camp supporting the TROJENA Dam project at NEOM. This comprehensive contract includes residential units and essential supporting structures such as a mosque, dining halls, a medical clinic, and a gym. The project will also encompass civil works to ensure the camp’s full functionality.
Photos of progress on construction of an accommodation facility for staff working on THE LINE within the NEOM giga-project have been shared by an executive leading the project. THE LINE chief operating officer Giles Pendleton shared three aerial photographs which were captioned with “NEOM is real part 16” and described them as “our home at NC1 and base of operations to support NEOM and THE LINE.” It is understood that NC1 stands for NEOM Community-1.
Abdulmohsen Alhokair Group for Tourism and Development has embarked on the implementation of the catering project at residential complexes in NEOM as scheduled. The project was awarded by Alpha Facilities Contracting Co., an affiliate of Al Fanar Group.

A consultant who worked on Saudi Arabia's NEOM megaproject says its centerpiece called THE LINE will be more of a resort than a functioning city. Chris Hables Gray, an author and consultant who researched science fiction design aesthetics for THE LINE in 2021, told Business Insider that the futuristic city was a "resort for 0.01% of the population."
