NEOM has officially named Eng Aiman Al-Mudaifer as the new managing director and chief executive officer. The appointment followed a six-month interim period in which he served as acting CEO. The decision, confirmed by NEOM’s board of directors, signals a leadership transition aimed at ensuring operational continuity and advancing project delivery across the development’s multiple regions.
Eng Aiman Al-Mudaifer - CEO NEOM
Al-Mudaifer’s appointment follows the departure of Eng Nadhmi Al-Nasr in November 2024. In his prior role as head of the Public Investment Fund’s (PIF) local real estate division, Al-Mudaifer oversaw infrastructure and real estate investments across the Kingdom and served on the boards of several PIF portfolio companies.
Mudaifer, whom our source said has deep knowledge of NEOM and has been involved in monitoring the project's developments for some time, led the local real estate division at PIF and oversaw all local real estate investments and infrastructure projects.
Despite external speculation about scaling back the original vision, NEOM has reiterated its commitment to the project’s long-term objectives.
Beyond THE LINE, other regions within NEOM are also advancing. OXAGON’s port is operational, with ongoing infrastructure expansion to support logistics and trade.
In Magna, excavation work has commenced to build a resort integrated into a mountain. TROJENA is under development with an artificial lake and associated tourism infrastructure, in preparation for hosting the 2029 Asian Winter Games.
