Hitachi Energy, a global leader in sustainable energy solutions, has secured a major contract from Enowa and the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) to design, develop and commission one of the world's first 3 GW, 525 kilovolt (kV) HVDC Light transmission systems in Saudi futuristic city NEOM.   The ground-breaking deal inked with Enowa, the energy and water company of NEOM, and SEC will see Hitachi Energy design and develop the first phase of the visionary NEOM region transmission system, together with its consortium partner Saudi Services for Electro Mechanical Works (SSEM).

Hitachi Energy, a global technology leader advancing a sustainable energy future for all, has signed agreements under the supervision and management of the Ministry of Energy with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) and with ENOWA. The agreements include the supply of three high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems to end customer ENOWA, the utility company for NEOM in Northwest Saudi Arabia. Built with sustainability in mind, NEOM is among Saudi Arabia’s Giga-Projects1 reshaping the future of development. The three HVDC links will have a total power capacity of up to 9 gigawatts (GW). 

Scandinavian Industrialized Building System (SIBS), one of the world’s leading modular home manufacturers based in Malaysia, has been awarded a contract to deliver 2,174 apartments covering 35 buildings at Saudi futuristic city NEOM.  Located in the kingdom's northwest, NEOM is one of the world’s largest urbanization projects and will be a centre of world-leading innovation with a new model for how we live and develop sustainably.

NEOM has partnered with one of India's premier T20 cricket league teams, Rajasthan Royals, to deliver NEOM’s first ever cricket program. The landmark pilot program aims to facilitate an active and healthy lifestyle within the growing workforce, forecast to reach 60,000 people by the end of the year.

Founded in 2008 and hailing from Jaipur, Rajasthan, Rajasthan Royals is one of the world’s most renowned cricket teams and recognized internationally for its academies and community foundation work. To mark the partnership, Rajasthan Royals lead owner, Manoj Badale, today visited NEOM to meet CEO, Nadhmi Al-Nasr, community members and take part in a selection of cricket sessions.

NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) today announced that following signing financial documents with 23 local, regional, and international banks, and investment firms, it has now achieved financial close on the world's largest green hydrogen production facility at a total investment value of USD 8.4 billion. The plant is currently being built at OXAGON, in Saudi Arabia's region of NEOM. NGHC has also concluded the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreement with Air Products as the nominated contractor and system integrator for the entire facility.
