Snowmaking technicians in the ski village of TROJENA have successfully managed to produce artificial snow in the Sarawat Mountains. Jack Lawrie, a snowmaking technician of TROJENA, which is the NEOM’s global destination for mountain tourism, explained that the solid weather in TROJENA has helped him to make snow, as the temperature during the cold season was around -8°C.
Lawrie has expressed his happiness at being one of the first people to come and ski in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia has won a bid to host the 10th Asian Winter Games (AWG) for 2029 in TROJENA.
The decision was announced in October at the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) General Assembly in Cambodia. The General Assembly unanimously approved the Saudi proposal.
