Wayne Borg, Managing Director of NEOM Media Industries, stepped into the Cannes studio to discuss the progress the regional hub in Saudi Arabia has made in the two and a half years since its inception, emphasizing the focus on building up local crew and making an ecosystem for the regional film market.  

Borg continued to discuss projects currently shooting in the NEOM region, including the reality TV show Million Dollar Island, which just wrapped. “We’re in the process right now of shooting our first international version of that show so we’re now becoming a format hub for reality formats and straight after that we’re going to go into the second season of the Arabic version and we’re about to announce shortly a major studio-based reality show of a very well-known franchise.”

He highlighted NEOM’s partnership with film and digital content production and finance company Telfaz11, which just wrapped shooting genre-bending epic Al-Gaid.
