NEOM executive shares photos of progress at massive staff accommodation facility

Photos of progress on construction of an accommodation facility for staff working on THE LINE within the NEOM giga-project have been shared by an executive leading the project. THE LINE chief operating officer Giles Pendleton shared three aerial photographs which were captioned with “NEOM is real part 16” and described them as “our home at NC1 and base of operations to support NEOM and THE LINE.” It is understood that NC1 stands for NEOM Community-1.

The photos, which were posted publicly on 21 August on Pendleton’s personal LinkedIn profile, show a major development of various blocks of buildings, including what looks like apartment blocks.

Roads which disappear off into the flat desert landscape of the Tabuk region northeastern Saudi Arabia, intersect the development.

Pendleton also shared photos in July 2024, captioned “NEOM is real part 15. Lots of work visible across NEOM as camps emerge and infrastructure excavations are starting to show true scale of activities.”

The photos, apparently taken from inside an aircraft, show a vast scar stretching to the horizon which is likely to be early works on the Line. In one of the photos, large pools of water are visible within the footprint of the scar.
