Adhering to the principle of adapting to market demands, the Chinese-Polish Joint Stock Shipping Company (Chipolbrok) launched a new liner service from China, the Far East, and Southeast Asia to the Arabian Gulf. This new connection to eastern destinations is underpinned by a long-term contract to supply industrial products, primarily manufactured in China, to these rapidly expanding economic zones.
The inaugural voyage, departing from China at the end of October, was undertaken by the chartered general cargo vessel Atlantic Voyager II, a Warnow-type ship operating in the Chipolbrok fleet. The vessel called at Abu Dhabi and Shuwaik with a full cargo of steel products for the oil and gas industry along with various component shipments.
A key development for Chipolbrok in the region is the recently established port of NEOM. This port has become a vital gateway for a prominent industrial project, backed by Chinese support and initiated by the Saudi Arabian Royal Family. Vessels calling at NEOM, and not exclusively serving the Arabian Gulf, also extend their voyages via the Suez Canal to Turkish ports, carrying project cargo for that region.
The vessels ordered feature three 250-ton cranes, combineable to 500 tons. The ship features two extra-long cargo holds with a maximum length of 76.8 meters and a fully open deck, suitable for loading and transporting large machinery, equipment, and project cargo.
